I love portable snacks for hiking, biking and life. Try them with or without the spices.

Yummy Banana Oat Bars

2 cups rolled oats
1/2 cup coconut
1/2 cup dates, finely chopped (or raisins or other dried fruit)
1/4 cup walnuts, finely chopped
3/4 cup apple, finely chopped
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon allspice
1/4 teaspoon cloves
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon pepper
2 tablespoons flax seeds, ground
2 bananas, blended until smooth

Combine ingredients in a bowl and stir to combine. Press mixture into a 9×9 pan that has been coated with cooking spray. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 30 minutes. Let cool in the pan before cutting into nine pieces. (If you really like these, make a double batch and bake it in a 9×13 pan. They freeze well too!)
